Self Appraisal

A young man named Pulkit walked to a telephone booth in a provisional store and dialed a number. The store keeper knew the man. He allowed him to make the call. He dialed a number of a certain woman whom he addressed as Mrs. Mehta. As he made the call old store keeper listened to his conversation.

Pulkit : “Hello, is this the Mrs. Mehta’s residence?”

Mehta: “Yes.”

Pulkit: “I heard you are in need of a gardener.”

Mehta: “I already have someone to employed for the job.”

Pulkit: “Really? You already have a gardener. Is he a good gardener? Are you perfectly satisfied with his work?”

Mehta: “I’m very satisfied with the person who is presently doing the job.”

Pulkit: “Is there anything he is not doing that you would like to be done?

Mehta: “No, thank you!”

Pulkit: “Madam, I will do the job for half the price you pay for him.”

Mehta: “No, thank you! I’m very happy with his work and have no plan to remove him.”

Pulkit: “It’s ok. Thank you, madam.”

As he hung up the call, the store keeper spoke, “Pulkit beta, I couldn’t help over hearing your conversation. But aren’t you actually Mrs. Mehta’s gardener?”

“That’s right chachu. I just called to find out how I’m doing. It was my self-appraisal”
